Mark Lyon is a local musician (13 Seeds, Electric Okie Test, Randy Crouch Band), recording engineer, guitar teacher and a mellow laid-back friend who helped us record some of our repertoire last fall. Fascinating mementos of his long music career from Austin to Tahlequah and places between fill the walls of his cozy home studio. Mark helped us keep it simple, easy, and fun. Here is our recording of Hot Chocolate’s Everyones a winner.Of course I played all the violin. Casey played acoustic guitar, percussion and provided all the yelps and ah-haws. Mark played the joyful electric guitar solo.Hope you like it! Casey made this video collage featuring footage of Hot Chocolate in their hey day, and old time square dancers. ,

After we played Main Street Enid's First Friday, back in April, we were invited to the after party in the Larsen's barn outside of town. Inside baby goats climbed on the tables. Soon we joined local musicians Billy Beck and Dallas Morris for this impromptu jam. Outside dozens of red lights flashed in the distance, from some kind of machinery. A nest of screech owls observed it all.
Casey and I were playing out front of Warpaint Studio when Derek Knowlton, the owner, emerged. He said, “Hey man, you need a foot tambourine.”He soon brought one. Casey put it on his foot and jangled out the beat.Derek listened for a minute.A couple days later Derek sent a text.
